John Locke寫(xiě)作競(jìng)賽是由位于牛津的獨(dú)立教育組織John Locke Institute與英國(guó)牛津大學(xué)、美國(guó)普林斯頓大學(xué)等優(yōu)質(zhì)院校教授合作組織的學(xué)術(shù)項(xiàng)目,其評(píng)審全部來(lái)自英國(guó)牛津大學(xué),每年舉辦一次。選題涵蓋了哲學(xué)、政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、歷史、心理學(xué)、神學(xué)、法律七個(gè)學(xué)科,每個(gè)學(xué)科設(shè)置不同的問(wèn)題,從極富趣味性和挑戰(zhàn)力的寫(xiě)作題目出發(fā),旨在培養(yǎng)參賽者的議論文寫(xiě)作能力,考察參賽者對(duì)于不同學(xué)科領(lǐng)域獨(dú)立深刻的見(jiàn)解、廣博的認(rèn)知、清晰的說(shuō)理能力、批判性地分析思維能力和說(shuō)服力。

 

因其學(xué)科范圍廣、選題深刻有趣,已成為全世界非常受歡迎和認(rèn)可的高中生英文論文競(jìng)賽之一。

 

參賽對(duì)象

高年級(jí)組:提交論文時(shí)年滿18歲及以下

低年級(jí)組:提交論文時(shí)年滿14歲及以下

 

比賽方式

官網(wǎng)一般會(huì)在2月份公布7個(gè)主題的題目。學(xué)生根據(jù)自己的興趣選擇一個(gè)問(wèn)題寫(xiě)一篇論文,在截止日期前(一般是6月底)提交。

 

每篇文章只能在所選主題類(lèi)別中回答一個(gè)問(wèn)題,可以提交多篇文章,但不得超過(guò)2000字(不包括圖表、數(shù)據(jù)表、腳注、參考書(shū)目或作者聲明)。

 

獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)設(shè)置

Grand Prize (終極獎(jiǎng)):

1人,獲得John Locke學(xué)院10,000美元的榮譽(yù)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金,用于參加學(xué)院一個(gè)或多個(gè)暑期學(xué)?;騡ap year課程。

 

各學(xué)科領(lǐng)域:

Winner、Second Prize、Third Prize各1人:獲得2000美元獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金,用于覆蓋John Locke學(xué)院任何課程的費(fèi)用。

 

High Commendations:

除去以上獲獎(jiǎng)的其他優(yōu)秀文章,最佳論文的作者們將獲得表彰并入圍獎(jiǎng)品獲得者的列表中。入圍的作者們還將被邀請(qǐng)到牛津參加9月份的學(xué)術(shù)會(huì)議和頒獎(jiǎng)晚宴。

如何備賽John Locke論文比賽

 

John Locke論文競(jìng)賽對(duì)參賽者的學(xué)術(shù)要求很高,同學(xué)們至少要具備以下能力:

 

了解哲學(xué),政治,經(jīng)濟(jì),歷史,心理學(xué),神學(xué)或法律等學(xué)科領(lǐng)域的基本知識(shí)結(jié)構(gòu)。
